Rising up 7000 feet from the desert floor, camping and picnicking on Mt Lemmon is a year around activity. Pay sites have paved roads, bathroom facilities and BBQ's. Other non fee sites have no amenities and are available at a first come first served basis.

FEE BASED CAMPSITES

These campsites provide amenities such as vaulted toilets, designated fire rings and camp hosts to help you with your needs. When fire restrictions are in phase 1, you can still have appropriate campfires in designated areas using wood.

Molino Basin Campground

November 1st- April 30th

Located at 4,370 feet in elevation and just 4.5 miles up the road, this campground lies within the desert grassland and open oak woodland ecosystems. There are 37 campsites which can accommodate trailers up to 22 feet in length. Camping cost $10.00 per night per vehicle. Picnicking or other day use in campgrounds is also $10.00 per day.

General Hitchcock Campground

May 1st - October 31st

Located at milepost 12, this campground is the lowest one amongst the pines which makes it great for the shoulder seasons. This campground is not recommended for trailers or RVs. No pack or saddle stock permitted in campground. Pets must be leashed at all times. Picnicking or other day use in campgrounds is also $10.00 per day.

Rose Canyon Campground

This campground is the largest with the most amenities. It boasts gathering facilities, a lake that is tsocked with trout throughout the Summer months and a small general store for your camping necessities. Campsites are spacious, spread out among stands of big ponderosa pine and clumps of Gambel oak in a cool forest setting. During rainy seasons, Rose Creek meanders through the area to Rose Canyon Lake at the lower end of the campground. A one-mile trail leading around the lake that is handicapped-accessible from a lower parking area to a floating dock near the dam.

Camping fee is $22.00 per night up to six people in a vehicle.  Double Family Sites are $36.00  No more than 6 people per numbered site, including children and visitors.  Second vehicle is $9.00 per night per site.  No more than two vehicles per site.  Extra Person Fee $1.00  For day use only, the fee is $9.00 per vehicle up to 6 people.

Whitetail Campground

Spencer Canyon Campground

Relax in the cool mountain pines at an elevation of 8’000 feet. Filled with wildlife and Box Canyon trail-head right around the corner. This campground has 68 first come first served campsites. Grills, fire pits and tables are provided. The sites also have potable water and vault toilets.
