TAKE A DRIVE

One of the greatest pleasures Mount Lemmon offers is the drive to the top. At the start of your 25 mile journey, you will find yourself winding through the saguaro cactus lined hills of the Sonoran desert as you pass by scenic canyons on your way to the grasslands of the high desert.

From there you will travel further into the heart of the mountain, passing by and through more canyons, waterfalls and groves of pines as you feel the temperature begin to drop.

Carry on further and you will see the famous hoodoo rock formations before dipping up and into the ponderosa forests. You will pass by vista after vista some of which look thousands of feet into the valley floor and over the city of Tucson. By the end of your journey you see the white barks of the shaking aspens before entering the quaint little town of Summerhaven.

EXPLORE ON FOOT

Due to the unique features and its geographical  location, hiking Mt Lemmon has some of the best year around access to trails. From the Saguaros and ocotillos of the high Sonoran desert to the aspen and ponderosa filled forest up high, theres always a season to lace up your hiking boots.
